Anthropology Degree Jobs

Archaeology, cultural research, and biological anthropology use different methods. Compare the field, interview, and lab work a program requires with the work you want to pursue. This matters especially when an online degree offers little supervised field experience.

Field, Lab, and Interview Skills

For archaeology, seek documented field and lab experience. For cultural or applied work, develop interviewing, observation, and analysis. For biological anthropology, check the lab and science sequence. The American Anthropological Association names government, cultural resource work, museums, nonprofits, and business among possible settings, but the hiring requirements still belong to each role.

Read the Experience Requirement Before You Apply

Search for the exact title and setting, then compare its required techniques with your coursework and field record. If the job is titled anthropologist or archeologist, plan around BLS’s graduate-level typical entry standard rather than assuming the bachelor’s is enough.
