Economics B.A.
Oklahoma's economics major is a 30-hour core inside a liberal arts BA: principles of macro and micro, elements of statistics, intermediate micro and macro theory, and fifteen hours of 3000-level or higher economics electives, with calculus as a support course and a C or better in every major course. A combined B.A./M.A. lets strong students begin graduate coursework early. The degree also runs as a 100% asynchronous online program for transfer students and working adults with at least 24 earned credit hours, which takes 24 to 36 months, starts in fall, spring or summer, and is priced at $550 per credit hour.

Economics BS and BA
Oklahoma State offers economics through Arts and Sciences in several forms: a BS, a general-option BA, a BA in International Economics Relations, and BS versions aimed at pre-dental, pre-medical and pre-veterinary students. All share a core of intermediate micro and macro theory plus a three-hour Applied Economics course. The BS general option adds fifteen upper-division economics hours, while the international option requires international economic relations and international economic development, a foreign language, marketing or business law, and global-competency courses. The department advises prospective graduate students to take a wide range of math courses, and a business economics and quantitative studies option sits in the Spears School.

Economics, Quantitative Economics B.B.A.
Central Oklahoma's Quantitative Economics BBA stacks a 21-hour economics block on top of the full business core. That block has intermediate micro and macro theory, intermediate business statistics, quantitative business forecasting and a capstone in econometric methods, plus six hours of advanced economics and nine hours of electives from economics, information systems, data or supply chain, or a minor such as computer science, mathematics or statistics. Qualified students can use an accelerated pathway to begin the M.S. in Business Analytics while still undergraduates. The department also offers a general Economics BBA with advanced specialization and accelerated routes into the MBA and MPA.

Economics B.A.
Tulsa's economics BA is unusual for teaching several schools of thought rather than a single canon: stated outcomes include analyzing economic questions across schools of thought and working with game theory and experimental economics. Required courses are macro and micro principles, macroeconomic and microeconomic theory, and History of Economic Theory, with calculus, statistics, twelve elective hours and a required minor. Every student completes a three-hour senior project, applying theory to an independent research question. The university also offers a Heterodox Economics in the Study of Capitalism minor and BS and BSBA versions of the major, which suits students who want breadth or a business pairing.

Economics BA
The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma sets economics inside its liberal arts mission, so the major draws on history, political science, sociology and mathematics. You choose between two Bachelor of Arts versions. The social science emphasis prepares students for graduate study in economics and other social sciences, law school, and work in business, government and teaching. The business emphasis pairs economic theory with practical business applications and aims at graduate business programs and business careers. A separate checksheet exists for each emphasis, which makes it easy to compare requirements before you declare.

Economics, Ph.D.
Oklahoma's economics doctorate asks for 90 post-baccalaureate hours: 27 hours of required courses in mathematical economics, price and welfare theory, macroeconomic and growth theory, two seminars, statistics for econometrics and two further econometrics courses, then twelve hours of field work with two courses in each of two fields. Choose from development economics, industrial organization, international economics and public economics. Fifteen more hours of fields or electives lead to 36 hours of dissertation research. Students must spend at least two consecutive semesters in residence, pass a general examination, and defend the dissertation, a path the program expects to take about three academic years beyond the bachelor's degree at minimum.
