The Nevada psychology board does not issue a separate master’s-level psychology credential. Master’s graduates who want to provide therapy usually pursue a counseling or marriage and family therapy license from a different board.

The Board issues no master’s-level psychology credential. Its FAQ states: NRS 641.027 requires psychologists to hold a doctoral degree. Psychological assistant and psychological intern are doctoral-level training credentials, and 2025 SB 251 changed them from registrations to provisional licenses. 2025 SB 165 created a Behavioral Health and Wellness Practitioner license under this Board requiring a bachelor’s degree or higher, with regulations at a hearing August 21, 2026. Nevada is a PSYPACT member.

Requirements summarized from the board’s official pages. Confirm the current rules with the board before you choose a graduate program.
