The Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners licenses psychologists in Arizona. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in psychology does not by itself qualify you to practice as a psychologist.
Source: Minimum Requirements | Board of Psychologist Examiners
The Arizona psychology board does not issue a separate master’s-level psychology credential. Master’s graduates who want to provide therapy usually pursue a counseling or marriage and family therapy license from a different board.
The board says it does not offer any psychologist license for someone whose highest degree is a master’s. Under policy SP.01-25, approved November 8, 2025, doctoral students who have finished the required coursework can be approved to take the EPPP before their degree is conferred. A temporary license, good for 36 months, is available to people completing supervised postdoctoral experience (A.R.S. 32-2073(B)). Arizona is a member of PSYPACT (A.R.S. 32-2087). The board also licenses behavior analysts, which are outside this record.
Requirements summarized from the board’s official pages. Confirm the current rules with the board before you choose a graduate program.
