Psychology BA
You can't declare psychology as a continuing UNH student until you've passed Introduction to Psychology and Statistics in Psychology with a C or higher and hold a 2.0 GPA, though first-year and transfer applicants can declare at admission. The 44-credit major then adds research methods, two breadth courses in each of two groups and two depth courses in each of two groups, with options such as psychopathology, drugs and behavior, health psychology, counseling and autobiographical memory. The senior capstone can be an internship, an independent study or an honors thesis. A combined bachelor's and master's route lets motivated students begin graduate work in their junior year.

Psychology BA
Four-credit courses fill most of this 48-credit psychology major, and its core includes statistics, research methods, brain and behavior, and culture and psychology. You choose two foundations courses, two courses from each of two advanced lists, one covering learning, aging, perception or cognitive neuroscience and the other testing, abnormal psychology, counseling or clinical psychology, and finish with a capstone seminar in a track such as psychophysiology, developmental, social, clinical or experimental psychology. Practica and independent research are available. A year-long honors program leads to a presented research project, open to students with a 3.20 GPA.

Psychology BA
This online psychology BA builds a data skill into the degree: a 12-credit embedded certificate in Data Literacy in Psychology comes with it. You can stay on the general track or choose one of five concentrations, which are addiction studies, child and adolescent development, forensic psychology, industrial-organizational psychology and mental health. The mental health concentration offers experience with community-based service organizations. Courses include Introduction to Psychology, Lifespan Development, Research Methods and Theories of Social Psychology, and the program closes with Psychology and Social Change. SNHU accepts up to 90 transfer credits, which suits students who already hold some college credit.

Psychology BA
A required senior research thesis is the centerpiece of Saint Anselm's psychology major, and it follows behavioral statistics, foundations of research methods, an intermediate methods course in an area like cognition, brain and behavior, or applied psychology, and the advanced research seminar. Electives come from three groupings: brain and behavior, development and potential, and society and relationships. Internships in legal, clinical, educational, political and business settings are optional additions. Labs include a behavioral pharmacology lab studying conditioning and substance use. Students who complete the BA can't also receive the BA in Behavioral Neuroscience, so choose between the two early.

Psychology BA and BS
Psychology comes as a BA or a BS at Plymouth State, and the BS has four options: general psychology, mental health, a 3+2 route into mental health counseling, and a 3+3 route into school psychology that ends in a paid internship year. Both degrees run through introductory research methods, two four-credit research methods and statistics courses and behavioral neuroscience, with a capstone in an internship, a seminar or independent research. You can join on-campus labs studying emotion and relationships, learning, or psychophysiology, working as a research assistant for pay or credit. The BA adds a foreign language requirement.

Psychology BA
Two senior-year requirements define psychology at Colby-Sawyer: you design and carry out an original research project in an area you choose, and you complete an internship of at least four credits with a professional development seminar. The 52-credit major starts with Introduction to Psychology, which needs a grade of C or higher, then Statistical Methods for Psychology and Research Methods in Psychology, where you design original research projects. An advanced research seminar serves as the capstone, along with four psychology electives at the 300 or 400 level, such as forensic, health, sport and exercise or counseling psychology. Internships are arranged with faculty in places like child protection agencies, schools and rehabilitation facilities.

Psychology at UNH Manchester leans on its city. The department has partnerships with local hospitals, mental health centers and human services agencies where majors complete internships, and research projects cover sensation and visual perception, child psychology, neuropsychology and community-based work. Students build a background in experimental and clinical psychology, including perceptual, counseling and developmental courses. A few catalog courses, such as behaviorism and pioneers of psychology, are offered in Manchester only. There's also a pathway for New Hampshire community college students, so an associate degree can lead directly into the major.

Psychology PhD
This PhD is aimed at people who want to teach at the college level, and the training reflects that. You specialize in one of three areas: brain, behavior and cognition; social and personality; or developmental psychology. Research with faculty runs alongside a Practicum and Seminar in the Teaching of Psychology, then your own classroom, first teaching Introduction to Psychology and later mid-level courses in your area. Many students add a master's or a cognate in college teaching through the nationally recognized Preparing Future Faculty Program. Full tuition waiver and a stipend are offered for five years, depending on university funding. It is not a clinical program.

A Psychology Internship capstone in the last semester is something many transfer programs skip, and this associate degree includes it. Before that you take Statistics, Introduction to Psychology, Human Growth and Development and a cellular biology course, then fill the rest with behavioral and non-behavioral social science, humanities, language and science electives. The sequence covers the first two years of a bachelor's in psychology, so decide early where you'll transfer, since your advisor can then match electives to that school. At least 60 credits are needed, with 15 earned at Nashua and 8 of those at the 200 level.
