Psychology BA
A 40-hour psychology BA at Miami has you take statistics and a writing and research methods course in order, then choose at least one course from each of five breadth areas: biopsychology, cognitive, developmental, individual and social. Upper-level courses round out the 40 hours with at least two 300-level courses and two 400-level courses, one of which can be the psychology capstone. The department offers a single major, so the choices come from the courses you pick, from Advanced Biopsychology and Psychology of Language and Thought to Adult Psychopathology and Psychology of Prejudice and Minority Experience. Students with a 3.25 cumulative and major GPA can apply to write an honors thesis, and the master's in psychology can be finished in one additional year through the combined BA/MA.

Psychology BA and BS
Five of seven core courses, a year-long statistics and methods sequence and a research capstone make up the psychology major at Cincinnati, whichever degree you choose. The core menu runs from Social Psychology and Introduction to Cognitive Psychology to Psychobiology and Fundamentals of Psychopathology. The BS adds scientific writing, extra science courses and a double major, minor, certificate or outside science electives. The BA instead requires Psychology of Interpersonal Relations, an upper-level interpersonal course and a Working with People requirement that a co-op, internship or psychology course can fill. Both degrees offer an optional co-op track with three work experiences, and the BS has a Developmental Science track with a research, service learning or fieldwork practicum. Qualified majors are invited into an honors program that ends in independent research.

Clinical Psychology PhD and Developmental, Cognitive, and Affective Sciences PhD
Two PhD programs run through the Department of Psychological Sciences at Case Western Reserve, and both are full-time and require a master's thesis along the way. The Clinical Psychology PhD is a scientist-practitioner program accredited by the APA, typically five to six years, with a Child and Family track (and a pediatric specialization within it) or an Adult track, field placements and an internship. The Developmental, Cognitive, and Affective Sciences PhD centers on research training with a faculty mentor, starting with a first-year research clerkship. It offers concentrations in developmental psychology, affective neuroscience, cognitive psychology, behavioral genetics and developmental disorders. Students complete the master's thesis in year two and finish the dissertation by about year five. Most graduates of that program go into research or teaching.

Psychology PhD
Four program areas make up the psychology PhD at Bowling Green: clinical, industrial-organizational, neural and cognitive sciences, and developmental, which is not accepting applications. The clinical program follows a scientist-practitioner model and has held APA accreditation since 1971. Clinical students can complete the program in general clinical psychology or add a concentration in clinical child, clinical health or clinical community psychology. In neural and cognitive sciences, the first two years go to graduate courses and a master's thesis and the last two to the dissertation, with two statistics courses and two content core courses outside the student's area. Students in good standing receive eight semesters of assistantship funding. The GRE is required only in industrial-organizational psychology.

Psychology Transfer Pathway AA
This Associate of Arts is a transfer pathway, so the psychology courses you take count toward a bachelor's degree at the next school. The Ohio Board of Psychology licenses psychologists in Ohio. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in psychology does not by itself qualify you to practice as a psychologist.
Source: Licensed School Psychologist Applicants - Ohio Board of Psychology
Ohio has no master’s-level psychological associate license. A master’s degree leads to board licensure only through school psychology. Anyone practicing under a psychologist’s supervision must use a title that shows supervised or training status (OAC 4732-15-01). Ohio is a PSYPACT member (ORC 4732.40, effective August 3, 2021). Ohio has enacted the Interstate Compact for School Psychologists (ORC 4732.42, SB 276), effective October 6, 2026. The board also issues the Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) certificate, which requires BCBA certification or an equivalent; it is a behavior analysis credential, not a psychology license, so it is not listed above.
Requirements summarized from the board’s official pages. Confirm the current rules with the board before you choose a graduate program.
